Where the Word is taught verse by verse.Pastoral Notes

About Us Many people refer to Jesus simply as their Savior. Jesus is the Savior of the world that is the plain and simple truth. He came as the Incarnate Son of God to save those which were lost. But I believe that we really need to look at what we say. It is obvious that actions speak louder than words in some that profess Jesus as Savior.

What we need to realize is that there is more to this story. Many people accept Jesus as Savior and leave it at that. There is a sign that we currently have in front of the church, HE is Jesus Christ Lord. Some people believe that the words are synonymous. They are NOT!

The Son of God and Son of Man who was raised from the dead by the Power of the Holy Spirit was Jesus Christ our Lord, Paul declares Jesus means Savior, Christ means Anointed One, and the Lord means sovereign ruler. He is Jesus because He saves His people from their sin. He is Christ because He has been anointed by God as King and Priest. He is Lord because He is God and is the sovereign ruler of the universe.

Upon accepting Jesus as Savior we are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit. We receive the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, guide, and teacher. We should open our hearts to receive Him and to learn to know God. The Holy Spirit will reveal the Holy Word to you as you grow to know God. Growth produces actions. Belief is an action word. You see, we are to be doers of the Word and not just hearers of the Word. When we surrender our selfishness and self-centered attitudes, and we accept that which God wants us to have, we learn the Lordship of Jesus.

Paul constantly refers to himself as a bond-servant. He has surrendered totally to the Lordship of Jesus. When we do that, not only is Jesus our Savior, He is our Lord. Who is your Lord?
